Officine Montorfano
have over seventy years of experience in the steel working industry, and
were already using the first machine tools in 1933, for grinding the
eccentric shaft of internal combustion engines. We are well aware of the
enormous technological developments that have characterised these past
decades, but at the same time cannot discount the capital of expertise
and competency accumulated over this long period, during which the
Montorfano family has continued running the company, literally from
father to son.

Our strategy has been: to
capitalise on past experiences to build a future in which we can offer
our clients the highest possible work and service quality. From the mechanical
jobbing shop with one grinding machine of seventy years ago, we have advanced
to today's facility which occupies an area of 8000 square metres, of which
4500 are roofed. We have systematically reinvested a considerable share of
profits in the upgrading of our equipment, which currently consists of thirty
numerical control work centres, including grinding machines, lathes, boring
machines, hydraulic straightening presses, dynamic balancing machines and
induction hardening system. Our machine tools are capable of handling work
pieces with the following dimensions: maximum lenght 10.5 metres, maximum
diameter 1600 millimetres, weight up to 20 tons.
The activities of Officine Montorfano are principally focused on two main areas: Machine tool jobbing shop for work drawings; for example: Eccentric shafts for presses, shearing machines, pumps and diesel engines, Hydraulic pistons, Large sized rolls, Columns for presses. Production of plant components: Rolls for sheet flattening machines, Rolls for cold rolling, Slitter shafts for slitting lines, Hardened shafts and rolls for use in steelworking, Hardened shafts and rolls for paper, textiles and plastics processing plants, Eccentric shafts. We are able to handle the complete component supply process. Our engineering department, in collaboration with the end user, defines the technical characteristics of the steel and the surface treatments most appropriate for each application. Officine Montorfano are ISO 9002 certified and each work is accompanied by a testing certificate, in accordance with the quality system procedures. |
