Officine Montorfano have over eighty years of experience in the steel working industry and in the machining of mechanical parts.
In fact, we were already using the first machine tools in 1933, for grinding the eccentric shaft of internal combustion engines.
We are well aware of the enormous technological developments that have characterized these past decades, but at the same time, we cannot forget the capital of expertise and competency accumulated over this long period, during which the Montorfano family has continued running the company and that today allow us to launch the Officine Montorfano 4.0 project, maintaining and reinforcing the same values that have always characterized us.

WORK ROLLS FOR HOT
AND COLD PLATE LEVELLER MILLS
Officine Montorfano is among the world's leading suppliers of rolls for hot and cold sheet metal levelling machines.
Thanks to our well-established know-how, we take care of studying the application and suggesting the most appropriate material and surface hardness of the roller table in order to have an appropriate operational use.
The size of the pieces, the complexity of the new types of machines and the processed materials, make it one of the most technologically advanced products.
In our reference list, we offer the supply of rollers capable of processing large sheets up to 5.2 meter width and special applications such as processing high tensile strength materials.
LEVELLING-STRAIGHTENING WORK AND INTERMEDIATE ROLLS
Officine Montorfano have more than fifty years of experience in manufacturing of levelling rolls, straightening rolls, and intermediate rolls supplied in processing lines of sheet metal of all types, and with any mechanical characteristics.
Over the years, we specialize in supplying rollers for processing special steels, stainless steel and aluminum.
The machine tools used are all numerically controlled and capable of producing rolls with diameters between 20 and 1600 millimeters, and weigthing up to 15 tons. We are able to recommend the most appropriate steel alloys for each application. During the design and construction phase, we pay particular attention to the surface finishing process, which can range from standard grinding to polished superfinishing, from sandblasting to special shapes, as well as chromium.
SUPPORT AND BACK-UP ROLLS
Officine Montorfano manufactures a wide range of supporter rolls with characteristics specifically optimized for flattening machines, and which are thus able to ensure optimal performance even in critical work environments, where there is the presence of dust, moisture and calamine.
During the design and fabrication stages, Officine Montorfano carefully takes into account the frequent problem of not uniform plate thickness, which causes abrupt load changes on the supporter rolls. These particular working conditions require careful evaluation of the sizing and protection of the rotating part, so as to obtain a load distribution that is as uniform as possible.
SLITTER SHAFTS FOR SLITTING LINES
Officine Montorfano produces high technology slitter shafts and roll shafts using state-of-the-art numerical control machine tools, which make it possible to obtain geometrical tolerances between 0,002 and 0,004 millimeters. The shafts are manufactured from forged steel in order to guarantee optimal quality and perfect dimensional stability.
Thanks to its experience in the production of these types of shafts, Officine Montorfano is able to recommend the most appropriate types of steel and the optimal heat treatments and finishes, as a function of the characteristics of the sheet metal to be cut or formed, the required cutting precision, the use of automatic blade changes and the general operating conditions anticipated by the user.
ECCENTRIC SHAFTS AND HYDRAULIC PISTONS
Officine Montorfano is equipped with a highly specialized department for the construction of eccentric shafts and hydraulic pistons for use in forming application.
The eccentric shafts for presses, shearing machines and pumps are manufactured using forged steel, and all the mechanical operations up until the final grinding are performed internally by highly specialized personnel.
Officine Montorfano manufactures hydraulic pistons for presses with diameters up to 1600 millimeters and weights up to 15 tons. As a function of the application, the pistons are subjected to final surface treatments such as induction hardening, chromium surfacing, polishing and super finishing.
HARDENED TUBING COUNTER CUTTER ROLLS
Officine Montorfano manufactured counter cutter rolls which satisfy the increasingly demanding requirements, in terms of plant work speed, of paper and cardboard processing applications.
Our advanced production technology enables us to manufacture extremely lightweight, high-hardness rolls with non-abrasive surfaces, characterized by superior balancing and high precision roller table profile.
For the production of the rolls, Officine Montorfano uses special steel alloys which after hardening can reach hardness levels up to 65 HRC, and are therefore able to assure durability and optimal performance under high working pressures.
MECHANICAL WORKSHOP AND THIRD-PARTY PROCESSING
Officine Montorfano operates a mechanical work shop, which puts at customer disposal a top-flight installation of plant and equipment, as well as the company's enormous baggage of competence and expertise. Luciano Montorfano, the current Managing Director of Officine Montorfano, says: " The third-party processing is the highest expression of our professionalism.
